Renewing the OCI card should be as easy as renewing a passport. Submit a new photo with copy of old OCI card and copy of new passport. But it is almost like applying for a new OCI card. That needs to be changed.

This is the problem with our administration no one knows what is what? This OCI card been issued how long ago? Any over 10years still confusion exists. It was good you take a 10 year visa and travel with that single passport rather than carry 3 documents. When you introduce a new form all the old forms should be deleted, instead you have the old as well the new.

Indian bureaucrats want to make money, right?? The easy way is to squeeze the Pravasis'. Agree with Mr.Abraham Mathew..why OCI admn. start it all over again instead of just renew it. In that case the fees will be less and the bureaucrats cannot embezzle any money out of it. Shame!!

What kind of rules the Indian Government is making from time to time confusing people? After fifty years,first time those who took the OCI Card,they dont have to be renewed for lifetime.That is a standing rule.But those who have taken before 20 years and fifty years,they should renew the OCI card whenever they renew the American passport.I reiterate Mr Thomas T. Oommen, he was my senior in St.Thomas high school Eruvellipra, have to reconfirm that those who taken OCI Card first time after fifty years, they don't have to renew their OCI card and that is a standing rule.For other people it is better to carry their old American passport alongwith the renewed American passport with the OCI card is sufficient incase some Airways will raise objections and that is a safe side. I hope you all understand.
