BISHOP PAULOSE PHILOXINOSE AND THE THEN PATRIARCH SIMPLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION AND FORMED A REBEL GROUP THAT BECAME THE PATRIARCH FACTION. THIS IS THE TRUTH. THESE BISHOPS ARE JUST FIGHTING EACH OTHER FOR MONEY AND POSITION. WHY YOU FOLKS WASTE YOUR ENERGY OVER THIS ISSUE. IF ALL LAMBS KEEP QUIET THE FIGHT WILL SUBSIDE BY ITSELF. IN 1953 AN YOUNG PRIEST WAS ELEVTED AS BISHOP FOR THUMPAMON (PATHANAMTHITTA) DIOCESE. HE HAD A VISION TO UNIFY THE CHURCH. NEXT 5 YEARS HE TRAVELED EXTENSIVELY TO NORTHERN PART OF KERALA AND BECAME A KEY FIGURE TO END THE DISPUTE. CHURCH BECAME ONE IN 1958 AND THE UNIFIED CHURCH PROGRESSED A LOT BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND FINANCIALLY. EARLY 1970 A BISHOP SYNOD WAS CONVENED AT PARUMALA TO ELECT THE NEXT CATHOLICOSE. THE THUMPAMON BISHOP WAS NOMINATED BY THE MAJORITY. ANOTHER SENIOR BISHOP WHO WAS SLIGHTLY OLDER THAN THE THUMPAMON BISHOP THREATENED TO SPLIT THE CHURCH IF HE DON'T GET THE POSITION. THUMPAMON BISHOP WHO CONSIDERED THE GREATNESS OF THE CHURCH MORE IMPORTANT CONCEDED. THIS DRAMA TOOK PLACE IN PARUMALA GAVE THE IDEA OF SPLITTING THE CHURCH TO BISHOP PAULOSE PILOXINOSE. PAULOSE PHILOXINOSE CONSPIRED WITH THE THEN PATRIARCH AND MASTERMINDED TO SPLIT THE CHURCH AGAIN. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE OF FAITH. LET THE GOVERNMENT LOCK DOWN FEW OF THESE CHURCHES. SHUTTING DOWN MANARCADU CHURCH WILL BE THE END OF REVENUE FOR BRAND NEW MERCEDEZ, BISHOP'S PALACES, GOLD-DIAMOND NECK ORNAMENTS, DIAMOND RINGS ETC. OTHERWISE LIFE OF THE PEOPLE WILL GO NORMAL

Mr.V.George, your truth is nothing but hearsay. You must be mentioning about Vattakunnel Bava Thirumeni. Thirumeni never threatened to split the church. Whatever you heard was simple rumor. Fr. George Koshy is living in New York . Fr. Koshy was the secretary of Vattakunnel Thirumeni at that time. You please check with him before spreading rumor and claim it as " the truth".

Churches are not countries. You do not conquer another church saying once upon a time it was our church. Those who want a church can collect money and build a new church (with proper permits). In the Bible, there is no history of one church taking over another church by force. Study the Bible and act like brothers and sisters in Christ. You shall not covet another man's property. Good principle for individuals and institutions. This whole mess was created by a non-Christian judge named Arun Mishra. He had a big ego. He was a bigger dictator than the British government. He retired. Thank God! Tyranny of judiciary in India.

As per the Constitution & established traditions of the Malankara Orthodox Church; The Catholicos Designate becomes the Catholicos. Vattakkunnel Bhava was a C.Designate for a long time. Ougen Bhava became sick, Vattakkunnel Bhava became the Catholicos. I was with Augen during his last days, Vattakkunnel Bhava is my teacher, Mentor and above all, we were very close friends & a Father-son relationship. Vattakkunnel Bhava was a Savior & necessity for the church & that time. Fr. Koshy came after I left, but he was with Bhava during the fights and he too knows many things. Patriarch people tried all the worst they can to tarnish him & even get arrested. There were days Bhava had to hide away from intimidating Subpoenas initiated by patriarch side. The unknown, inner side of V.Bhava was saintly, very humble, simple but he never sacrificed his Nobility. Please don't tarnish Vattakkunnel Bhava.

I did not mention any bishops by name other than the Rebel Catholicose Paulose Philoxinose of Kanadanadu The complete history of Malankara Orthodox Church written by Fr.Dr.Cheeran is available at the Parumala Church book stall. The infamous PARUMALA SYNOD COUP is clearly portrayed in the book. Names of all the players of the coup are also listed in the book. Fr.Dr.Cheeran is a well known historian and Orthodox priest. I don't find any reason for Fr.Cheeran to spread a baseless hearsay. This book must be read by every Ortho-Pathri members and get some insight about the arrogance of the so called Thiru-menees. Again, this split in the church has nothing to do with faith, it is fueled by few unscrupulous bishops who wants power, position and money. This is the right time for all Ortho-Pathri members to join their hands together and stand as true followers of Jesus.

Fr.Cheeran was 100 % wrong. The election was unanimous. There was no other candidate other than Vattakunnel Thirumeni. Fr.Cheeran was able to sell several thousand copies, gained a lot of publicity because of this unfounded story. Pure hearsay.

Boby is partially right. There was no other candidate when the Malankara Association convened to elect the Catholicose designate. A drama bigger than Macbeth was played at the Synod and the deserving candidate who was supported and nominated by majority of the bishops withdraw his name to avoid the split. All I said is that the idea of splitting the church came from an Orthodox bishop. The Church was united at the Puthencavu Association. No one at the ex-patriarch side thought about splitting the church prior to that infamous Parumala Synod. Bishop Paulose Philoxinose just became the torch bearer of that destructive idea with the ardent support of Kananaya Bishop Abraham Clemis. Someone closing his eyes doesn't mean that the outside is dark! Orthodox senior priest Rev.Fr.C.O.Varughese (Texas) can shed some light to this subject. My point is that the general public should not waste their time, money, health and peace of mind for this Ortho-Pathri fight. Ortho-Pathri church service is same, vestments are same, sacraments are same, costume is same. Both of them in their Thubaden, remember and pray for the Syrian Refugee Patriarch Ignatiose. The issue is not faith, no one is prohibited from any of these disputed churches if they obey the church constitution. The problem is few unscrupulous red gown people who are afraid of loosing money. What a pity!
