America is always known as the land of equal opportunity and rights, but was it a myth so far?
Now we hear that last week the US House of Representatives passed the Equality Act 2019, a bill that would protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in housing, the workplace, public accommodations, and other settings. Previously on March 13, Nancy Pelosi introduced the so-called Equality Act, a bill that would add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected classes under federal civil rights law; otherwise this Act implies how social orientation and gender identity (SOGI) laws are going to affect the general public. The Equality Act and other proposals like these laws are very popular among the American public, and it is likely to be the biggest news you missed this weekend, still media keeps silence on its impacts, somehow!
In reality a federal sexual orientation and gender identity law would empower the government to interfere in how regular Americans think, speak, and act at home, at school, at work and at public places. Most of the citizen feel that any bill promoting such authoritarianism is a danger to our existing liberty and freedom in the long run.
Once the Equality Act becomes law, many of us or groups will have tremendous impact on how they perform. Mainly at the workplace employers may have serious issues with workers and also in the future appointments. With the introduction of The Equality Act Employers and workers would be compelled to conform to new sexual norms or else lose their businesses and jobs, and this situation is already happening in various states and communities gradually.
Indirectly hospitals and medical insurance companies will be forced to pay for these therapies against any moral or medical objections. Medical professionals try to compromise by acting against their best medical judgment and provide transition-affirming therapies. This Equality Act is going to harm the parents and their children, as the politicization of medicine would ultimately harm some of them, by normalizing hormonal and surgical interventions for gender dysphoric children as well as ideological “education” in schools and other public venues. Already we are aware of a case of parents in Ohio lost custody of their seventeen-year-old daughter because they declined to put her on testosterone supplements.
In many countries, including France we might have seen unisex toilets in the airport and public places. Think about the embarrassment of women folks, who had always enjoyed their privacy and private restrooms so far. The Equality Act would ultimately lead to the erasure of women by dismantling sex-specific facilities, sports, and other female-only reserved spaces. Please note that sexual orientation and gender identity laws that open up sex-specific facilities like bathrooms, locker rooms, etc. to members of the opposite sex enable sexual encounters and assaults. “The Equality Act actually furthers inequality, especially for women and girls, by punishing anyone who does not affirm a single viewpoint of marriage and biological sex".
The Equality Act would also hurt non-profit charitable organizations, social volunteers, and the populations they serve. In Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, California, Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia states, many similar state and local laws have shut down numerous faith-based adoption and foster care agencies across the country. There is yet another demand that "Pass the Equality Act, but protect Title IX"' the law prohibiting sex discrimination in federally funded education programs.
" According to surveys from the Public Religion Research Institute, a majority of people in every state support laws protecting LGBTQ people from discrimination in jobs, housing, and public accommodations. This applies even in the most conservative states, from South Carolina to Alabama to Mississippi. PRRI found majority support across all sorts of different groups. About 79 percent of Democrats, 70 percent of independents, and 56 percent of Republicans say they favor the laws. A majority in every age group, from millennials to the elderly, supports the laws. Even a majority of white evangelical Protestants, who are typically conservative on LGBTQ issues, support the measures, along with every other religious group tracked by PRRI". Most Americans support protections for LGBTQ people, that is okay.
Dr. James Dobson, Founder and President of James Dobson Family Institute condemns the House Democrats for passing the Act and proclaims "It imposes a thinly veiled death sentence to the First Amendment of the Constitution, and takes away the protections against tyranny handed down to us by our founding fathers." According to him, in the history of America, there have been times when evil was so apparent and so heinous, that they stand in infamy decades later. They include the Dred Scott decision on slavery in 1857, and the Roe vs. Wade ruling that legalized abortion in 1973. Now we are faced with another such tragic moment in American history. We must let our voices be heard, first in the U S Senate and then to the world. Viva Liberty, Viva the First Amendment to the constitution of the United States. Viva biblical values and beliefs. And woe to those who would try to take them from us.
"To fulfill the Equality Act's promise to safeguard all individuals from sex discrimination, we must not treat it as a zero-sum game" that is what Neena Chaudhry, of the National Women's Law Center, Washington said in her comments to the Washington Posts.
