THE MASK (Poem: Samgeev)

THE MASK (Poem: Samgeev)
This is a market of masks
Buy your mask from this shop
All masks are on sale in this market
Come, get one of your size and kind

The demon buys an angel’s mask
The butcher wears a shepherd’s mask
The sword and knife are disguised
The sheep see only the staff and rod

A traitor put the mask of a saint
He was with the Master for years
Until he betrayed his Master
With a kiss for thirty silver pieces

“O Brutus, you too” wore that mask
The mask of a loving, loyal friend
Until the sword pierced a heart
And your mask changed the history

Mask your words and deeds
The mask is pretty, colorful and bright
Wear the mask of love all the time
To sow the seed of hatred and malice

Wear a mask, a smiling mask
Cover your ugly face with a fitting mask
Never take the mask off your face
Why should the world see the real face?
