Dear KACT Family Members,

We write to you with heavy hearts as we share the sad news of the passing of Mrs. Renee Mambalam, who left us peacefully on Sunday morning. Renee was a cherished member of our KACT community and a native of Kottayam Chingavanam. She is survived by her husband Jacob Jacob Thomas and her daughters, Veena and Sapna.

Mrs. Mambalam was an esteemed contributor to Malayalam literature, having authored numerous short stories, novels, essays, and travelogues. Her works were published in prestigious periodicals such as Desabhimani Varika, Samakalika Malayalam Varika, Manorama Weekly, Vanitha Magazine, Chandrika Magazine, and many more. She also penned the novel "Avicharitam" and received accolades including the 'Norka Roots' Pravasi Award for her short story collection in 2010 and Phoma's Literary Achievement Award in 2014. Her literary contributions enriched not only our community but also the broader landscape of Malayalam literature.
